West Wyoming Wetland Cleanup
Sunday, March 24, 2002 
Members of the Intercollegiate Leadership Council, Wyoming Valley Watershed Coalition and West Wyoming Borough worked together to cleanup a wetland area in West Wyoming. This cleanup event removed 43 tires among other debris from a natural wetland area. Read More! 

Streamside Cleanup 2002

Wyoming Valley, PA
This ambitious program tackled four stream sections in the Wyoming Valley. The streams included in the project were Abraham’s Creek in Wyoming and West Wyoming, Brown Creek in Plymouth and Larksville Borough, Nanticoke Creek in Nanticoke, and the banks of the Susquehanna River in Plymouth Township/West Nanticoke. Over 130 participants removed at least 8 tons of debris and disposed of 10.5 tons of tires as a part of this project. Summary

RiverFest 2002
Saturday, June 22, 2002 - Canoe Trip and River Festivals
An event to raise environmental awareness, encourage education 
and to foster community involvement in the Wyoming Valley Watershed. The best count reveals that at least 135 people participated in the paddling adventure that included a morning segment from West Pittston to Wilkes-Barre and an afternoon segment from Wilkes-Barre to Plymouth Township/West Nanticoke.
